CLASS DISCRIPTION:

Hal’s workshop will break down the dexterity needed to start you on your Finger Tutting journey. Focusing on tools to expand your hand dance vocabulary and how to incorporate these into your existing practice. 

BIO:

Hal Mayer is a movement artist from Nottingham. Using the disciplines within Hip-Hop dance to create Harrowing, Horror-Theatre.

Drawing predominately from Finger Tutting and Popping styles to create his work. Focusing on the Body Horror capacity they have within their muscular contractions and shape shifting qualities.

After being blacklisted for his seminal theatre piece, Hal doubled down on the Horrific elements of his craft. Using the genre to facilitate a cathartic viewing experience for his audience. 

Subsequently Hal’s work has been programmed at Sadlers Wells, Rich mix, Lakeside arts, The Nottingham Contemporary and commissioned by The Curve Theatre, Artist’s 4 Artists and Breakin’ Convention.

ACCESS:

DMU PACE buliding has a lift up to the studios as a well as an accessible toilet. We will be in studio 1.

Parking wise...

CAR PARKING & DIRECTIONS

Studio 4 is wheelchair accessible

However, 

There is NO parking directly outside of PACE building.

The Newark or the Gateway roads have free parking after 6pm.

Alternativly car parking will be available in the main DMU visitor car park located at LE2 7DP.
