"Take part in this one-off masterclass with internationally renowned dance artists Aakash Odedra and Hu Shenyuan. This two hour session is aimed at professional and pre-professional level dance artists and offers a rare opportunity to learn from both artists as the embark on their UK tour of Samara. 

Samsara, inspired by the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West, traces the steps we take, both forward and backward, in search of our higher selves. Drawing on thinking and imagery at the heart of Buddhist philosophy, it explores some of the 81 obstacles and 6 states of mind that can hold us back. Epic mythological storytelling merges with personal experience and anecdote from two globally opposite perspectives, in a highly visual landscape.

You are invited to dance and experiment with us, exploring the possibilities of movement you have yet to discover. Through participation and observation you can begin to understand the classical styles of dance from Indian and Chinese culture through a contemporary dance class. For some, this will be an experimental exploration, please keep in mind that they may be trying new movement vocabulary for the first time."
